From Humble Beginnings

In 1985, Weatherill and Sharp founded IPCO, a tool-making company. Dissatisfied with the performance of their cantilever brakes, they developed their own cable-operated calipers in 1989 and began experimenting with disc brakes.

Pioneering Innovation

Hope Technology officially launched in 1991, introducing mechanical disc brakes and disc-specific hubs. By 1992, Hope had gone global, showcasing their products at Interbike in Anaheim, USA, and establishing a strong presence in both the UK and US markets.
